This charming little hotel exceeded all our expectations. the location was perfect - down the hill and right by the lake, offering breathtaking views that were simply unbelievable. We were lucky enough to have a room with a private balcony, where we could relax and admire the beautiful surroundings. Secondly, the staff were extremely friendly and attentive, making us feel right at home. Finally, the breakfast was delicious, with a wide variety of choices to suit everyone's taste. All in all, the attention to detail and the value for money at this hotel were exceptional.
All was perfect, nothing to improve.

Superb breakfast - wonderful view from terrace. Good spacious room overlooking mountains. Hotel exterior at back tired. Can just about walk into Ascona - through wooded steps so walk back up tiring and dark at night though and takes about 30 to 40 mins depending on how fit you are! Didn't try the restaurant for evening. Use of free pc for internet was good.
Pool was a real disappointment. Looks good in photos and was looking forward to a swim. But tiles cracked missing and it generally looked grubby. Pool let hotel down. Automatic bathroom light was a bit annoying if you went to the loo during the night. Tried covering it up but it was very sensitive to any movement and was a shock when you walked in the bathroom during night as light can on fully bright.

Spectacular lake views can be enjoyed from the private balcony. the grounds are beautifully maintained down to the private beach area. the breakfast is impressive, with a large spread of cheeses, breads, meats, cereals, jams. the rooms are spacious and comfortable with nice large bathrooms. the hotel is pet-friendly and provides great service.
For the price paid, there should have been more staff available and better winter service.

The 2 rooms in the annex have natural light coming from the ceiling. You'll have light in the room all day long, but it makes it hard for some people to sleep in...Also, there were some dead ants falling from the ceiling in one corner of the room. For 206 CHF/night ..I would expect a bit more ... But it is possible that the rooms from the hotel itself are very nice.

Very friendly staff, nice views on the lake and the mountains, clean room, tasty breakfast, very quiet surroundings and a lot of sunshine!
I found the room a bit on the coldish side (in beginning of Feb) and there was a constant droning noise from the heating system (I assume).

The stunning vista of the lake and mountains was breathtaking. The extensive range of bread choices in continental breakfast exceeded our expectations. The hotel location was close to a bus stop which is a convenience for those who don't want to walk far.
The steep hill walking back to the hotel was a little challenging. It would have been great to have direct access to the lake but the car journey to Lucarno for a more extended lake walk was still worthwhile.

The view from the terrace is outstanding, simply stunning! We enjoyed the location as it was close to the lake and the staff was pretty helpful. the rooms are clean and cozy, which was perfect for a city break. During our stay, we had the chance to try out the hotel's food, which was genuinely remarkable.
We were a little disappointed with the size of the pool; it was quite small and not very clean.
